For a Target shopping list, begin with the item and the discount available at checkout. The Weekly Ad is organized around the selected store, and free Target Circle membership can apply eligible deals when you are signed in. Start with the Weekly Ad for your store

Target's Weekly Ad can be set to a particular store. Pick the location you intend to use before comparing an advertised offer with your list. An advertised category may include several sizes or variants, so open the exact item to see its payable price and availability. For a family essentials basket, compare the quantity and unit price of household products rather than choosing by an ad badge alone.

The ad is especially helpful when you are flexible on brand or color but not on the product's purpose. If you need a specific baby item or home accessory, look for that exact model first. The discount is only useful if the item and fulfillment option suit you. An advertised in-store offer should not be assumed to qualify for an online cashback transaction.

Understand what free Target Circle does

Target's Circle help page says membership is free and eligible deals are applied at checkout when members identify themselves in store or sign in online. Basic Circle membership, the Target Circle Card and Circle 360 are different products; joining the free program does not require buying a subscription or using a store card.

Sign in before evaluating the final online total so you can see which Circle offers apply to your account and basket. Some promotions have their own restrictions, and a deal that reduces checkout cost immediately is different from a later cashback reward. Compare the resulting payable total, including any fulfillment charges, rather than adding advertised discounts that may not apply to the same item.

Check whether your order can earn ShopBack cashback

The ShopBack US Target page says cashback is only eligible for orders completed and shipped through the Target US site. It lists clothing, shoes, jewelry, accessories, baby gear, furniture, health, beauty, home, outdoor furniture and home decor among the eligible categories. Groceries are not on that list. A same-day pickup or in-store purchase should therefore not be planned around this online offer.

If you are buying a shipped beauty or home item, compare its Target checkout total first, then open the Target offer through ShopBack and follow its current terms for that order. The terms exclude gift cards and certain Circle programs, credits and registry-related purchases. Taxes, service charges and shipping do not form part of cashback. A mixed basket should not be treated as entirely eligible merely because one item belongs to a listed category.
