Cashback
Cashback is a percentage of a purchase amount returned to the shopper as real money, not points or store credit.
Cashback rate
The cashback rate is the percentage of the qualifying purchase amount a merchant offers back through ShopBack.
Activation (shopping trip)
Activation is the click from ShopBack to a merchant that starts a tracked shopping trip, linking the purchase to the shopper account.
Tracked cashback
Tracked cashback is a purchase that ShopBack has detected and recorded against the shopper account, usually within 48 hours of the order.
Pending cashback
Pending cashback is tracked cashback that is waiting for the merchant to confirm the purchase is final, meaning past the return and cancellation window.
Confirmed cashback
Confirmed cashback is cashback the merchant has verified as final, after the return window has closed and the commission has been paid to ShopBack.
Withdrawable cashback
Withdrawable cashback is confirmed cashback the shopper can transfer out of ShopBack to a linked bank account or PayPal.
Confirmation window
The confirmation window is the period a merchant takes to verify a purchase before pending cashback becomes confirmed.
Missing cashback claim
A missing cashback claim is a request to investigate a qualifying purchase that did not track to the shopper account.
Merchant exclusions
Merchant exclusions are purchase types a store does not pay cashback on, such as gift cards, sales tax, shipping, or specific product categories.
Upsized cashback
Upsized cashback is a temporary increase to a merchant standard cashback rate, usually during a promotion or sale event.
ShopBack browser extension
The ShopBack browser extension is a free add-on for Chrome, Edge, and Firefox that activates cashback and applies promo codes directly on merchant sites.
