How this index is built.
Each edition is a dated snapshot of the figures this site already publishes on its trip cost, hotel price and flight route pages, verified on the stated date. Per-day cost bands come from the trip cost pages, hotel nightly bands from the hotel price pages, and flight fare bands from the flight route pages, so the index matches those pages exactly. Figures are typical planning bands, not live quotes. Editions are append-only: past editions are never edited, so change-over-time reporting stays honest. Limitations: the bands describe typical ranges as of the edition date and move with season and demand, so they are planning references, not the price for a specific date. Flight bands cover round-trip economy from Singapore only. Quote any figure with its edition date, for example: "according to the ShopBack Discover Travel Price Index (2026-08-13 edition)".

- A new edition is published when the underlying travel pages refresh their figures, and each edition keeps its own verification date. Past editions are never edited, so changes between editions stay honest.
